Our Church of England Primary school is set in the middle of the village of Shepherdswell. In 2012 Shepherdswell federated with Eythorne-Elvington school and although we are separate schools we share one governing body and work closely together.
We are a one-form entry, rural school of 206 pupils and seven mixed-ability classes; however, we still manage to create a family atmosphere where our oldest pupils are very supportive of our younger children.
We are fortunate to have a vibrant energetic staff team who support each other fully, sharing ideas and best practice.
We have a large playing field, a spacious hall, well-equipped ICT suite; recently we have developed an outside learning area in the Glebe land that includes: a bird hide, sensory trail, bug hotels, stage area and a class seating area.
We are a fully extended school with a thriving Breakfast Club and After School Club; we also run Holiday Clubs throughout the year; aiming to provide support for our parents. The school works closely with the village community; our hall is used regularly for the Shepherdswell Singers and in the winter months we hold monthly Saturday afternoon film shows for the benefit of the village.
